YOFC helps three major telecom operators launch their first commercial hollow-core fiber optic line

Recently, China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom successively announced the official launch of their first commercial hollow-core optical fiber lines. Leveraging its industry-leading technological strength and industrial-scale manufacturing advantages, Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable (YOFC) provided all hollow-core optical fiber products for the three operators' respective first commercial hollow-core optical fiber lines, further advancing my country's continuous breakthroughs and leadership in the field of next-generation communication technology.

 

Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable (YOFC) holds a leading position in the field of hollow-core optical fiber technology, not only in assisting the construction of the first commercial lines for the three major telecom operators, but also in achieving world-class levels in technical indicators and industrialization capabilities. After years of strategic planning, YOFC, through a fully independent and controllable raw material R&D system and relying on the research team of the National Key Research and Development Center for Optical Fiber, has comprehensively overcome key technologies for the industrialization of hollow-core optical fiber, and has developed a series of hollow-core optical fiber products covering multiple scenarios. YOFC's proprietary "support tube structure" hollow-core optical fiber, in its large-scale production, has achieved a latest average loss of 0.12 dB/km and a minimum loss of 0.05 dB/km, figures far below the theoretical limit of 0.14 dB/km for traditional single-mode optical fiber.

 

In September of this year, YOFC showcased a 100km hollow-core fiber link at the China International Optoelectronic Exposition (CIOE) and conducted on-site link testing using its self-developed EDFA+OTDR, achieving a link attenuation of 0.089dB/km. This test result demonstrates YOFC's advanced manufacturing capabilities in long-distance, low-loss hollow-core fiber. Furthermore, during the commercial deployment of hollow-core fiber, YOFC established standardized construction specifications and provided full-process technical support in fiber splicing, testing, and other aspects, ensuring high-quality project delivery and highlighting YOFC's outstanding engineering strength in the field of hollow-core fiber.
